My journey into the incredible world of rocks all began when a neighbor moved and left this ugly rock behind in their back yard. The new arrivals quickly took care of this eyesore by pitching it over the fence into the field. As I drove past it every day for the next week, I slowed down to look at the castaway. My curiosity finally got the best of me and I picked it up and put it in the back of my pickup. When I got home that night, I went to pick it up from the bed of my truck and it broke in half. I guess the trip over the fence and the rolling around in my truck bed, did it in. I stood there looking in amazement at the beautiful crystals of the geode, a Rockhound was born.
