If you visit the Bear Creek rockhounding site in Oregon during the spring months you may see blooms of bitterroot and other high desert wildflowers as you search for wood replacement. There is plenty of low grade petrified wood to be found at this site but if you really get your head down for real to where you have a stiff neck the next day, you can find some good color wood too. And a good hound will also find some small quartz crystals, moss agate and red and yellow jasper. -WET pic.-(3.5"x 2"/2.4 oz./6mm thk) no fracture
