From the Howard/Fillmore County area of Iowa, near the boarder of Minnesota, that's where this super red jasper was collected. It's got a cool, thin vein of white quartz that can give nice contrast in cabs. This type of hematite has been used for hundreds of years as a dye and a way to get color for cloths, decoration, pottery and many other things that need some color. It sure dyes my cutting oil red. lol -WET pic.-(3"x 2"/1.4 oz./5mm thk) no fractures >> great cutter
