Greetings fellow rock hounds.  I am in my fifth year of suffering with the affliction of "Rocks in my Head". The prognosis is not good. It has affected my spine and may lead to the development of RHH. I didn't think it was contagious but my wife is showing signs of it now. Rock Hound Hunchback is caused by the continuous looking down for rocks. With that said, I would like to share my discovery of a rock that is begging to get some respect. These rocks are ugly in the rough and I suspect that has been the reason why whomever picks one up just throws it back down.  But so are many other rocks that are considered to have inner beauty. One of my fellow hounds from Idaho said that he once saw one of these rocks on ebay being advertised as a Lake Superior Agate. The person was from Ohio and figured it had to be a Laker. These rocks are found all over the Great Lakes area in amongst all the other water worn Quartz, Petoskey stones, Jasper's and other nodules that have been spread over this vast Great Lakes area by glaciers.  What are these rocks you say? Well, it's more like, what were they?  They're Metamorphic and started out as Feldspar but somehow found themselves so deep underground that the pressure and heat from the weight above caused them to melt. After millions of years of being in the liquid state, a glacier slowly brought them back to the surface where they solidified into their new self, Quartz. They are Metamorphic Feldspar nodules or for the fun of it, let¿s call them "Blairrock".
