Actinolite'

Nice slab of Actinolite from the Hopeland area Mendecino County, California. This is the mineral that forms Nephrite Jade. The slender green chromium chatoyant crystals are larger, elongated felted into this shape. It is a bit porous normally but this slab shows a very solid inside w/minor pitting. (2"x2.5"/2.4 oz./7mm thk) no fractures
