Black Petrified Palmwood'

In 1969 Texas declared that Petrified Palm wood would be their state stone and at some time along the way Louisiana called it their state fossil. The trees were there more than 20 million years ago the chalcedony that replaced them is hard as you know and therefore shine like black glass.
