This agate is from the Pass Creek area of Idaho, west of Mackay. The insides of these are always a surprise. Some have nice drusy quartz centers, calcite centers, calcite centers mixed with banded agate or elusive amethyst. You never know until you cut them open. This is the hardest agate that I have ever worked with. I wouldn't doubt if it registered 7.5 on the hardness scale therefore takes an incredible polish. These are from a very old collection, gathered at least 25 years ago. -WET pic.-(8 oz.)
