Metamorphic Feldspar happens when feldspar ends up very deep underground over eons to the point where the sheer weight of the earth melts the feldspar and it stays a white hot molten glob for hundreds of thousands of years until they get plowed back to the surface by a glacier where they eventually cool. But now the heat and pressure has turned the feldspar to quartz. These stones have been mistaken for lake superior agates from day one. I see them now and then on ebay and lately I saw one that the person was calling it a "low pressure agate" but on the contrary, it has been under extreme pressure and has morphed into quartz. This whole nodule is real solid and will polish very nicely and you can tell by looking at them that they were once molten liquid. WET pic.-(3"x2"/1.6 oz./5mm thk) no fractures
