I laugh at the way some new found rough gets it's name. I guess the founder of this stone declared it to be a chrysoprase of the very lightest color known. It's also called Citron Chrysoprase. But anyway, a bad call on both as it turned out to be a magnesite with nickel but the name stuck. Nickeloan Magnesite to be precise and a 4 in hardness which is far from the 7 hardness of chrysoprase. I know I can't be the first to tumble it with actual chrysoprase only to end up with a nub after the first weeks tumbling. To Joyce it's a must color in her jewelry box and I see her wear it often. It looks like unglazed porcelain to me. But what do I know.? WET pic.-(1 lb. 7 oz.) no fractures
