Pinto Wash Wonderstone~

Back in the 60's you could go to Imperial County, California and hop over the border into Mexico to collect these unusual nodules. The collecting was short lived and that's why you never hear about them unless someone finds 'em in an old collection. A collectors gem because it's a travertine like matrix holding very hard colorful porcelain jasper patterns and shapes that go through the slab and you'll need to cut 'em out. Not that you can't cut an awesome scab with vivid color and detail but a collector may love this unusual beauty to have their hand.  -wet pic.- (3.8 oz) end cut
