An odd shaped polygonal calcite-filled cracks occurring in certain rock concretions. They are found in many areas around the globe. This was collected by my wife and I on the shore of Lake Michigan. Someone told me that a large storm had washed some septarian up from the deep water onto the beach. We decided to take the 6-hr. drive and had a great day collecting. To me, collecting is the best part of it all. I found the fossil too and put that in the group. -WET pic. -(1 lb. 8 oz.)
