The town of Shirley Basin was created in the early 1960's, when Uranium was discovered outside of town. According to reports from a fellow who lived there, the town only had a few permanent structures such as the school house and the town store, which also served as the post office, bank, gas station, and more. Most folk lived in mobile home trailers, and Shirley Basin vanished for the most part after the mine closed. It was officially closed as a town in 1992 but still visited by people who love ghost towning and now some rock hounds have found these odd tube agate nodules as float near the Shirley Basin ghost town. Dang, ya gotta luv it. -WET pic.-(14.2 oz.) end cut
