The red jasper gets crushed from ground movement during an earthquake then over hundreds of thousands of years all the voids are naturally filled in and healed with clear/white and red agate. Who knows how much time went by before it was found in 2016 in California's North Fork Stony Creek where the creek flows into Black Butte Lake. In the finder's own words, { Best specimen I've ever collected from Stony Creek, it is stunning with bright colors and gorgeous agate. } Yes it is beautiful and I can imagine how he knew he had a keeper in his hand with the red & clear/white agate but by the end of the day he forgot about it and unloaded the rocks he had collected that day. Now he knows that there is a special gemmy chunk in that pile somewhere and just lately found it and I was the lucky guy who acquired it from him.
