Ancient writings tell about the Thracian king Hem and the queen Rhodope, who loved each other so much that they were referring to each other with the godly names of Zeus and Hera. The Gods were so mad at them for their rude behavior that they transformed them into the Balkan Mountain and the Rhodope mountain. Forever separated from each other.
